The idea for arranging 24 LULLABIES & FOLK SONGS grew out of Barbara Becker’s years of teaching classroom music, and her enthusiasm for children being exposed to the wonderful world of folk music - so rich, varied and plentiful. One day in July of 2005 she realized she wished to leave, as her legacy, arrangements of some of these songs. Two years later, she completed the arrangements of 24 LULLABIES & FOLK SONGS.
Some are American, some are from abroad. Long ago, families would gather around the dining room table and sing madrigals by candlelight! It is time to rekindle that tradition and make music the center of family entertainment. With its healing and spiritual qualities, it brings everyone together through rounds, part singing and unison songs. Even the youngest child glows when his/her voice is added to the beauty of song.
